Worry, Fear, and Anxiety are things each one of us struggles with at some point in our lives. Here are the best Bible verses I’ve found to give you comfort and assurance when you’re worried, anxious, or afraid.
This year has brought many reasons to be concerned. It seems like every month we see or hear something new or troubling – the Coronavirus, shutdowns, riots, the elections, unemployment, family troubles, medical issues, etc. And, these things can make us anxious, worried and paralyzed with fear. Plus, they keep us from living joy-filled lives.
Thankfully, the Lord offers us solutions and promises for when we are worried, anxious, and afraid through His Bible verses. And, if we believe His promises and trust Him to take care of our every need, we will find peace and freedom from these negative feelings.
I pray these Bible verses will touch your heart and give you the hope and peace you are searching for.

The Best Bible Verses for Overcoming Fear
The other day, as I was reading the book of Mark, it occurred to me that the answer to fear is trust. I’d like to share with you what I discovered in these two chapters of Mark.
In the fourth chapter of Mark, Jesus and the disciples are on a boat in the sea of Galilee. Jesus is asleep when a terrible storm arrives. The disciples immediately become terrified. They rush to Jesus and wake him, crying out, “Teacher, don’t you care we are about to drown?” Jesus arises and tells the sea to be still, and the sea immediately calms. Then Jesus turns to the disciples and asks them in verse 40, “Why are you so frightened? Haven’t you learned to trust me?
Again, fear and trust appears in chapter five, when a leader of the synagogue asks Jesus to heal his very ill, young daughter. But, before Jesus can arrive at the man’s house, the little girl dies. The synagogue leader tells Jesus that it is too late, his daughter is dead.
Mark 5:36 says, But Jesus paid no attention to what they said. He told the synagogue leader, “Don’t be afraid, just trust in me.”
Jesus then walks into the room where the dead girl lies and brings her back to life.
Trust or Fear is the choice we must make. We can choose to focus on fear, and the what-if’s in life, or we can choose to put our trust in God, the one who has made everything on this earth and has the power to take care of any and every problem we may have.
The choice is up to each one of us. Will you choose to Fear or Trust?
Jeremiah 17:7-8
7) “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8) For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. 1 John 4:18
